How it works

From your screen to the mailbox.

The handoff happens online. Everything after that happens in Canada.

i Step One

Write your letter

Type your message in the editor and enter both addresses. If you have documents to include (PDF or Word), attach them too.

ii Step Two

We print and prepare it

Once payment clears, your letter and any attachments are printed in full colour on standard letter-size paper, folded into an envelope, and stamped with Canadian postage.

iii Step Three

It goes in the mail

We drop your letter at a Canada Post location within one business day. Canada Post's standard lettermail typically takes up to two weeks to a Canadian address and up to four weeks for international destinations.

What people use it for

Anything that has to arrive on paper.

Most of what we mail falls into one of these categories. All of it is printed in full colour.

01

Tax & government forms

CRA paperwork, Service Canada forms, anything that needs a wet signature and a Canadian postmark. We mail it from Canada whether you're in the country or not.

02

Letters home

Birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy notes, a printed photo with a long letter for the family back home. Useful when an email won't carry the same weight.

03

Legal correspondence

Demand letters, formal notices, immigration paperwork, real-estate documents, estate matters. Mailed from a Canadian address, with an order record we can produce on request.

04

Business mail

Invoices, contracts, signed agreements, year-end statements that customers still expect by post. For Canadian businesses, and for businesses outside Canada that need to reach Canadian customers.

Why Letterhome

Canadian post, without the trip.

Hi — I'm Jeffrey.

I started Letterhome from South America in 2024, after spending a frustrating week trying to send a single form back to the CRA. They wanted a wet signature and a Canadian postmark, and from where I was, neither was easy to come by.

So I built the service I wanted. You write the letter, attach the documents, and we print it, stamp it, and drop it in the Canadian mail — usually within one business day.

I had a pertinent document I needed to send to the National Student Loans Service and I was not in Canada for the deadline. I was able to use this service and the letter arrived within a week. It bought me some time. Highly recommended service for Canadians abroad. — Trish Anderson
FAQ

Common questions.

Can I use Letterhome if I'm not in Canada?

Yes. The whole process is online, so you can submit an order from anywhere with an internet connection. You don't need a Canadian address or a Canadian credit card. International cards are accepted through Stripe; you're charged in Canadian dollars and your bank converts at its exchange rate.

Where does the letter actually get mailed from?

Inside Canada. Letters carry Canadian postage and a Canadian postmark. To the recipient, the envelope is indistinguishable from one you would have mailed yourself at a Canada Post box.

What's the difference between domestic and international pricing?

Two prices: $10 CAD for letters to a Canadian address, $20 CAD for letters to any of 160+ international destinations. Either price covers up to 5 documents of full-colour printing on letter-size paper, the envelope, postage, and the trip to the post office.

How long does delivery take?

We print and mail within one business day of payment. After that, Canada Post's standard lettermail typically takes up to 2 weeks within Canada and up to 4 weeks internationally, depending on the destination. Tracked or registered options are available on request — contact us before placing your order.

Can I attach documents like PDFs or Word files?

Yes. Attach up to 5 PDF or Word files (10 MB each). They're printed in full colour and included in the same envelope as your letter. This is how most people use the service for tax forms, contracts, and immigration paperwork.

Is the content of my letter kept private?

Yes. Files are checked only for problems that would stop the mail from going through — bad addresses, unreadable PDFs, obvious abuse — not for the content of your message. The letter and attachments are deleted from our systems within 7 days of mailing. We keep a basic order record (date, amount, your email) for Canadian tax purposes, but not the content of what you wrote. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see card details.
